RESUME:
The idea to launch a “Europan Year of Languages” was born in a Final Conference in April 1997.In
January 1999.The Committe of Ministers declared 2001 the European Year of
Languages”.
The armis of the year
were:
-To incrase awareness of Europe's linguistic heritage.
-Motive citizens to speak various languages.
-Support lifelong language learning for personal
development.
A number of
countries received financial support thanks to generous financial contributions
of other countries to the Council of Europe.
The
European Year of Languages was successful in involving millions of people
across 45 countries in activities to celebrate linguistic diversity and the
benefits of being able to speak another language.
MY OPINION:
I think langauges are very important in our lifes. Thanks to them,we
can speak with other people from other countries. I speak three languages: Spanish (my bornn language), English and French. I started to learn English when
I was 3 years and I started to learn french the last year, so I don´t know so much of
this language.
I don´t like so much french, but it's compulsory in my high school.
I would like to learn German, but I don´t have enough time to do it.
"armis"? "incrase"? "motive"? "langauges"? "bornn"? Revise orthography before publishing always Jimena. By the way, it is "native/mother tongue", check words out in the dictionary. Start + -ing. Remember that nationalities and languages go with initial capital letter :)
